Update: After the sudden passing of Antoinette K-Doe on Mardi Gras Day, the bar is back up and running under the direction of Antoinette K-Doe's daughter. The front entrance, however, is lodged shut, due to a car accident. So even if it looks closed, try the back door, through the garden. The bar is a kind of Graceland-like tribute to R&B singer Ernie K-Doe (February 22, 1936 - July 5, 2001). There is the K-Doe hot sauce, plates, t-shirts, underwear and the life-like statue that broadcasts a special K-Doe message from a transmitter in its stomach to radio dials tuned to 1500AM. Then there are the incredible murals, Mardi Gras floor tile, leather couch, press clippings, projection TV, posters, folk art, seafood gumbo, small stage and amazing R&B jukebox all jammed together in 1/51379 the space of the Graceland in Memphis. Tourists and friends of friends of tourists.
